Chappie? More like Bad Robot Movie!
Starting off the mundane months between Oscar Season and Summer Blockbusters was Chappie, a movie about a "police droid that is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself."
Ok, so it's like I, Robot, Robocop, and Transformers rolled into one movie that's going to serve as a period of self-reflection for humans to look within themselves to discover what makes them really free.
Or it just sucks, according to Metacritic.com giving the movie a 40 out of a possible 100, and Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 29.
I was thinking about seeing "Chappie" this weekend until a Terminator showed up at my door and just shook its head.— Jason Sweeney (@sween) March 9, 2015
I still can't believe that many people chose to watch Chappie than doing literally anything else.— Nick Mundy (@dickfundy) March 9, 2015

A key decision in CHAPPIE is made while a character stares at a motivational cat poster.— Keith Calder (@keithcalder) March 8, 2015
No huge plans today. Just gonna take my vacuum cleaner to see "Chappie".— Julius Sharpe (@juliussharpe) March 7, 2015
It's pretty impressive that CHAPPiE takes place only a year from now, considering what robotics gave us last year. pic.twitter.com/FdpxsxqGjR— Lindsay Ellis (@thelindsayellis) March 7, 2015

Last line from Chappie: "No Chappie we can't exterminate all the humans for fun. And put your metal dick back in your metal pants!!"— Rob Huebel (@robhuebel) March 6, 2015
Because, otherwise, you're going to get review after review like this.....
Chappie? Folks...pardon my salty language, but in my opinion, the film should have been titled "Crappie", due to its level of quality.— Mike Sacco (@mikesacco) March 9, 2015

Chappie... was pretty "Crappie" if you ask me. Sorry to say it, but that flick stunk. Just being honest with you, folks.— eat piss (@strong_piss) March 6, 2015
I knew Chappie was going to be crappie.— neontaster (@neontaster) March 6, 2015
Has anyone used the headline "CHAPPIE is crappie" yet? If not, and I dislike it, I call dibs.— Geoff LaTulippe (@DrGMLaTulippe) March 6, 2015
@Filmdrunk So should I delete my review "Chappie? More like crappie, but let's get down to the nuts and bolts, beep boop"?— Ashley Burns (@MayorBurnsy) March 6, 2015
